Those are the three adjectives my husband uses to describe me, and I'm happy to say they are an amazing reflection of my personality and my heart.
I was born and raised in Southern California and spent summers at the beach enjoying the ocean breeze, pink lemonade, and quality time with family. Holidays have always been one of my favorite things to experience.
I vididly remember my mom breaking out the china each year and preparing our home to receive guests. She took so much pride in ensuring everything was perfectly planned, every napkin perfectly folded, and every flower perfectly arranged. An excellence in planning has been ingrained in the core of my spirit for as long as I can remember.
After completing my undergraduate studies at Howard University in Washington D.C. I ventured to New York to intern for the Zagat Survey in their Events Department. I further honed my event planning skills after moving back to sunny Southern California and launching Savvy Events while at California State University, pursuing my M.B.A.
I love perusing the aisles of any home design, furniture, or artisan shop. Roaming the cultured blocks of Downtown Los Angeles to pick new flowers to adorn my home warms my heart. Spending quality time with my husband, best friend, and business partner, Lawrence, is my absolute favorite thing in the world.
When I'm not planning events, you can find me lounging at the beach, casually sipping red wine or enjoying a mani and pedi with a girl-friend. My days are filled with hugs and cuddles with my sweet sweet baby boy who was born in May of this year. I am truly blessed to do the work that I love, and I am so excited to partner with you to make your celebration a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime, one-of-a-kind event.

Under the direction of Savvy Owner and expert, DeNeitra Burnett, The Savvy Team is ready to choreograph your next event with impeccable results. We are a group of passionate and creative project managers, designers and trouble-shooters who guide clients through the planning, design and seamless execution of their event.
Each Team Expert draws upon a variety of backgrounds and skill sets which offer expertise in designing your perfect event experience. We host a variety of experience across the group, offering experience in hotel industry, floral and tablescape design, the art of lighting, operational leadership and full scale design. We’ve got it all and are ready to serve you!
Lawrence Burnett, Co-Owner & Event Manager
Lawrence joined the Savvy team in 2012 and has been a driving force behind the growth and development of the business. As DeNeitra's right hand and the biggest supporter of the Savvy dream, Lawrence fell into event planning and has not looked back.
Organization, systems and the ability to be calm even in the most intense situations are attributes that Lawrence contributes to the Savvy client experience.
Clients most appreciate the level of detail and accuracy he brings to crafting and managing event budgets, drafting production schedules and keeping them on task throughout the planning experience.
With a background in higher education and fitness, Lawrence is able to create meaningful and impactful relationships with clients to ensure that their event is produced seamlessly.
Lawrence and DeNeitra were married in 2014 and welcomed a baby boy this past May. In his spare time you can find him in the gym, studying the Bible or catching up on the Japanese mini series, Naruto Shippuden.
Jessie Patterson, Event Manager
Jessie joined the Savvy team in 2015 and brings over 8 years of event planning experience. Her love for events was sparked while assisting in the production of large scale corporate events. She loves bringing a client's vision to life and most enjoys finding new and unique design concepts for clients.
A fresh eye for detail, meticulous organizational skills and the ability to anticipate client needs are elements that highlight Jessie's personality and professionalism.
From our high profile weddings to corporate events, Jessie is a vital component of the Savvy team and goes above and beyond to ensure that every element of our client events are handled with precision, grace and care. You will always find her with a smile on her face and a solution focused mindset.
Jessie hails from the South but has called Southern California home for the past 8 years. She brings a no nonsense approach to partnering with Savvy clients to ensure that every aspect of their event is well planned, beautifully designed and flawlessly executed.
